Who cares what you think?

News 1130 is reporting on a recent Global TV poll which found that three-quarters of those between 18 and 34 believe same-sex couples should have marriage rights. Apparently British Columbia and Ontario lead the other provinces in their support.

Ummm, excuse me? Last time I checked same-sex marriage is still legal in Canada. So why should I or anyone else care what a poll thinks? Sure it's nice gives me the warm fuzzies to know that we have ongoing support but did I miss something? Is there talk about repealing legislation that makes same-sex marriage legal in Canada?

What I'd like to know is when the poll comes out asking me if I support straight marriages? That answer is an emphatic yes but with the proviso they get married, stay married and procreate like the good lord intended.

This, like gays in the military, is such a non-issue. Get over it.
