On Tuesday, September 15th the City of Vancouver will play host to the "Council of Councils" bringing the entire group of City appointed advisory boards into one place. During this meeting each of the advisory boards is tasked with coming up with three priorities to work on during the coming year.
As a member of the LGBTTQ Advisory Committe I am not only disappointed with the lack of input and feedback about what our priorities should be but also for tangible solutions to address these issues as well. A LGBTQ community centre, better policing targeting hate crimes and the homelessness are three of the ideas that have been brought forward. But there must be others and there must be those within our community that have ideas on how to tackle these issues!
