In a recent post I called for a campaign for real friends and vowed to remove any "friends" from my personal Facebook page that I had not physically interacted within a six month period (actually on reviewing that blog entry I even said a phone call would do). Well, I did it. And I did it several months early.
And you know what? It was kind of cathartic. I'm now down to 21 "friends" on Facebook.
I know some people, not including celebrities, who collect them like matches. I mean really, who can have over 2,000 friends?! I'm thinking that even my 21 is stretching it.
I haven't had a physical or phone interaction with the 21 that are left but these are the ones I'm holding out some hope for so let's see where we're at in six months time.
