Do shorts count? If so that makes it twenty in five...

Last night was the annual The Coast is Queer shorts program at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and of course we at GayVancouver.Net (Gay Vancouver Online) were all over it as it continues to be one of our favourite parts of the Festival each year.

Not only are these shorts (a total of 13 were screened) diverse in their subject matter but they come from our very talented pool of queers here in Vancouver. And since most of these movies will only receive this one shot to be shown on the big screen it makes this particular evening all the more special.

We did a quick search on Youtube and found two of the 13 films available for your viewing pleasure online including our pick for the best of the night - Coffee Part 2
(see below) - written/produced by Daniel-Ryan Spaulding and directed by Greg Hewett. Turns out that this is part of a series of shorts "exploring Vancouvers coffee culture, as it follows the day-to-day manic dysfunctions and sexual obsessions plaguing numerous over-caffeinated urbanites."

The second short we found available on Youtube is On the Bus, a slick short film by Tracy D Smith from the Vancouver Film School (shown below).

If anyone knows where we can find any of the other shorts from The Coast is Queer let us know and we'd be happy to share them!
